Message to Our Students

Dear All,

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! Hugo and I want to bless each and everyone of you with this prayer:

Dear Lord,

We thank you today for the bounty of blessings you have bestowed upon us all in 2009. We know that all good things come from you. Hugo and I thank you for each and every person reading this newsletter and for all of the students, friends and instructors that have touched our lives. We pray for the trials and difficulties they may be facing. We pray that you will lead them through the dark times into the light. May they dance their fears and worries away and grow to become the person they were always meant to be. In Jesus Holy name we pray Amen.

Grace’s Salsa Tips

Grace's Salsa Tips

Tip #1: Face your fears: There is always something you will face in dance that is difficult. For some its spinning, for others its getting over the fear of trusting another person to lead or follow their lead. Our tip to you this month is the next time you dance with somone, tell them prior to dancing that you are nervous and ask the person to take it easy on you. Your partner should make your fears slowly dissipate if he/she is being sensitive to your request. So be sensitive and realize you arent the only one facing your fears when you dance. We all have them!

Tip#2: Stretch Out: The older we get the more prone to injury we become. Many dancers dance "cold" in the winter without stretching their ankles, feet, calf muscles, quadriceps or hamstrings. Take it from someone who knows, stretching is the most important thing you can do prior to dancing. Even a 2-3 minute stretching period can save you from months of pain! Dont forget to stretch.

 4. Is Dancing A Sin?

Have you ever wondered if dance is a sin? Many of us have been taught about God (the creator of Heaven & Earth). What does He say about Dance? To read Grace's article, "Is Dancing A Sin" click here:

Grace would love to know your opinion. Email her at grace@dancingwithgrace.com

Check out the last email I received about this article:

Hi Grace-

I loved your article on dancing.   I grew up being told it was a sin…so I was prohibited from dancing.   So guess what I wanted to do most of my life?  Yep!

BTW…Is there a sinful form of dancing?…of course.   And there is a sinful form of eating, driving cars, watching TV, recreating, etc.

I loved your take on the issue.   Thanks for sharing what you’ve learned and experienced.

As a Baptist Minister, and Christian radio Talk show host I now enjoy dancing with my wife…and I DON’T CARE anymore what the legalists say.

Neil
PS  I’m not much of a dancer…but it’s fun, and I hate the fact that the enemy tried to steal it from God’s people.  Well, I am committed to taking it back!
