Grace’s Salsa Tips

Grace's Salsa Tips

Tip #1: Wearing new shoes for the first time can be a painful experience. Make certain you get your Blister Block from Walgrees or CVS and cover your blister prone areas with it. You will never get a blister again!

Tip#2: Tight Spaces: Ever try to dance in a tight space? Not all salsa dances have to be filled with hundreds of moves. Stay in closed position in really tight areas and keep your partner safe as a baby kitten!

1. NEWS FLASH

Scoop of the Month:

New Jersey Dancin Dreams: Grace has been announced as the lead instructor for the 2009 New Jersey Dancin Dreams and is a partner of the 2010 New Jersey International Salsa Congress in April.

What is New Jersey Dancin' Dreams?

NJ Dancin' Dreams! It is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for fun, cost-effective therapeutic interventions, and youth development programs for vulnerable populations including children with disabilities and special populations such as inner-city kids and orphans. The New Jersey Dancin' Dreams will launch a series of projects, with the very first one to be held between April 22 to 25, 2010. Grace Badillo, co-founder with husband Hugo of Dancing with Grace Productions, Inc. and recipient of the 2008 President's Volunteer Service Award, will be the lead volunteer instructor for the dance workshops for children with autism. The NJ Dancin' Dreams will also seek to provide fun and development opportunities for other special populations (children with other types of disabilities, inner-city kids, and orphans).

Studio Closings

For those of us in the dance world things are changing and changing fast. Dance studios everywhere are closing their doors due to the weakened economy. Sounds depressing right? Not necessarily. People are downsizing and getting rid of large leases and the high monthly overhead costs associated with having a dance studio. They are merging with other studios to help one-another. This is creating new bonds, friendships and dance teams with several talented members on staff. The closing of studios is getting rid of high costs for owners and helping them focus on promotion, instruction, & performance.

 4. Is Dancing A Sin?

Have you ever wondered if dance is a sin? Many of us have been taught about God (the creator of Heaven & Earth). What does He say about Dance? To read Grace's article, "Is Dancing A Sin" click here:

Grace would love to know your opinion. Email her at grace@dancingwithgrace.com

Check out the last email I received about this article:

Hi Grace-

I loved your article on dancing.   I grew up being told it was a sin…so I was prohibited from dancing.   So guess what I wanted to do most of my life?  Yep!

BTW…Is there a sinful form of dancing?…of course.   And there is a sinful form of eating, driving cars, watching TV, recreating, etc.

I loved your take on the issue.   Thanks for sharing what you’ve learned and experienced.

As a Baptist Minister, and Christian radio Talk show host I now enjoy dancing with my wife…and I DON’T CARE anymore what the legalists say.

Neil
PS  I’m not much of a dancer…but it’s fun, and I hate the fact that the enemy tried to steal it from God’s people.  Well, I am committed to taking it back!
